WE ARE LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL PASADENA

Educator and Emmy Award-winning producer,Robert Sharp,

is the founder of Lucky Cat Productions. Robert has two professional passions:  teaching and educational technology.  Early on he was inspired by The Children’s Television Workshop, creators of the iconic educational programs Sesame Street and The Electric Company.    Both of these programs succeeded in using television in an entertaining manner to teach important skills.

For years he has taught school in several Los Angeles inner city schools while producing documentaries.  In 2001 he was

the recipient of a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award® as producer of a technology-themed professional development program for teachers titled, Hollywood Homeroom: Producing Classroom Videos with Hollywood Magic.  The series was presented by KLCS-TV/DT, a public television station owned and operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District.

After working five years as a mathematics instructional coach, Robert wanted to produce an instructional video series to help elementary students comprehend and even enjoy learning

math concepts.

He gathered together a team of teachers, administrators, actors parents and artists.  Art director Roberto DePalma, whose professional experience in creating computer graphics for movies and multimedia, is the driving force behind the project’s stimulating visual impact. The result:  a labor of love for all

children called Math Park.

On Saturday, August 6, 2011, the Lucky Cat Productions team was ecstatic when Math Park received a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award® in the category of Instructional Programming.  The series airs on weekly on KLCS-TV/DT as a part of the elementary instructional television block. With three different Math Park series becoming an exciting part of math classes in school districts throughout California, New York, Iowa and Oregon, the vision of Lucky Cat Productions is becoming a reality.  We want to produce more and more video series to address classroom needs.  Math Park is just the beginning!
